Add a touch of vintage charm to your home décor with our Grace Ford Tatting Printed Fabric. This unique fabric features a tatted lace doily design in classic black and white, handcrafted by my very own Great Grandmother, Grace Ford (1892 - 1985).

Grace made this doily in her early 90s, when she was all but blind. By then, she had been making lace for about 75 years, and she didn't need to see the work to know how to make it. In fact, she couldn't slow down to show you what she was doing because then she'd lose her place and get everything tangled up. Grace was born in Arkansas in 1892, but moved to Oklahoma Territory in a covered wagon as a young girl of about 9 years old. It's incredible that she lived to see men walk on the moon and the dawn of the digital era.

A tatted lace doily made by my great grandmother, Grace Ford sometime in the 1980s. My great grandmother was born in 1892, and I was lucky enough to know her until she passed away when I was a teenager. This doily is the only memento I have left of her.
